“All the boys in Mr. Barraclough’s class saw things
the same way, except for Luke, who looked at things differently.”
“Whenever Mr Barraclough saw one of Luke’s pictures, he went off his brain.
“Why do you do this, boy?” he yelled.
Luke didn’t know. So he said nothing.”
1KB used the influences of artist Jackson Pollock, and inspiration from their book character Luke, to create their own imaginative portraits. Firstly, they created their wonderful backgrounds on watercolour paper using an assortment of paint applied from squeeze bottles and brushes. In the following lesson they drew their imaginary portraits using oil pastels. Their backgrounds took a few days to dry before their portraits could be cut out and laminated on.
